A very nice series. The first, however, seems to have blown-out details in the reds. I checked, and there is no clipping of the reds in the image as posted. Was the original clipped? It looks like saturation might be part of the issue; part of it seems to be out of gamut on my sRGB monitor. I've had this happen with intensely red flowers when I used a standard curves tool, which boosts saturation as well as contrast.
