    Online photo hosting

I have been looking at several photo hosting sites and have narrowed it down to SmugMug and Zenfolio. These two fit my budget. SmugMug cost a little less. Anybody have any working relationships with either of these two? Are there any other sites out there offering a solid online photo display and possibly an online market place in the same price range? Thanks.

I've never used Zenfolio, but I have used Smugmug for years and am very pleased with it. They offer a variety of templates that make it moderately easy to custom-design your site. When I have needed customer service--which hasn't been that often--they have always been prompt, helpful, and courteous. For example, I recently made some changes to my site, and because I hadn't changed it in a long time (other than adding and deleting photos), I couldn't find the setting that was causing my pages to behave in two different ways. I e-mailed, and I got the answer within a few hours, complete with screenshots of two pages of my own site, showing me precisely where the settings were different.

the link to my smugmug site is below.

I have also used smugmug for years. It is easy to upload images and to link them to internet sites as well as a lot of other good stuff that I don't really use. Here is my smugmug site:

The cost is pretty inexpensive. I use the Power level which suits me quite well.

I am still in the process of looking into Smugmug as recommended by Dave Humphries above and I am liking it very much.

    Re: Online photo hosting

I'm a Zenfolio user for three or four years now. I evaluated them vs SmugMug at the time and chose Zen primarily because it seemed more intuitive for my own personality/knowledge. I was setting up for photo sales and that aspect in particular seemed easier/more flexible. But that was forever ago in this tech age. I know Zen has changed a lot since then and am sure Smug has as well. You can sign up for free trial accounts and try them out. Decide which features are important to you and go from there.

I have used Smugmug for years and I am very happy with it. I use it at the "power" level that meets all my needs.

If I have a problem with Smugmug it is that it is not particularly good for text. It is, of course, primarily a photo site but I use it as a travel site also, storing diaries on it. Getting the formatting right involves a lot of work.

I use the Power Plan. I think that it runs about five U.S. Dollars a month...

I had the same type of good experience with smugmug customer service. I couldn't open my site and called them. They told me that Internet Explorer was down and that I could access the site through Mozilla Firefox. They were correct!

Ok, thanks to all for the feedback. I have dumped my current web host (Arvixe) and am looking for a new home. Up to this point I have used Gallery Server Pro. I have not made up my mind yet if I will stay with Gallery Server Pro on another hosting site or become a Smuger. Best to all.
