What is a T.90? Just curious...
It could also be this.
Hmmm...interesting.
Brian,
It's going to be tricky to compare the lenses online.
First, when you post, the image is generally resized. Your tinypics image is about 1600 x 674 pixels. It shows up at that size on my monitor, which has a resolution of 192 x 1200 and can therefore display that image without downsizing. I assume that is what you didn't resize. The image shows up at that size in the lightbox. On my screen, however, the image in the thread shows up at 705 x 295. That downsizing will hide many sins.
To look at images from both lenses without any downsizing, position the lenses to that the framing is similar, and take a crop from each that is about the same size in pixels as the display you will use to evaluate them. Alternatively, frame them similarly and blow up the images on screen.
Not knowing these two lenses, my guess is that you will see some improvement in sharpness. Viewed in the lightbox, there is some obvious blurring in the image you posted. Look at the words "Philippines" and "norte", and at the final E and S in "matches."
However, the bigger difference won't be this. The bigger advantage of the Tamron will be how much closer you can focus, which will allow you to avoid cropping to the point at which you substantially damage the image.

I use my Tamron 90mm most often in manual focusing mode. I get just about the exact focus I want and then move back and forth a hair to keep what I want in focus...
