    Re: The Flower girls

    Good technicals Dean and the first two have strong poses.

    I suspect you have framed them centrally deliberately, so I won't suggest Rule of Thirds

    The last is, I feel, the weakest for several reasons;
    The orange bloom at the left edge of frame distracts my attention from the subject.
    The foreground (very) out of focus blooms are just a bit too dominant, although I 'get' that you were trying to show her surrounded within the scene.
    The pose is less 'strong', but this could be deliberate, I do find her knee a distraction - could it be toned down a bit perhaps?

    Nice light, good focus and Depth of Field on them.

    I am just beginning to get seriously interested in portraiture myself, so these and those others on your wix site, will be useful for me to study - therefore, please accept that my critique is somewhat "amateur/theoretical" in nature.

    Well done, Dave

    #1 to Dave's comments...

    Now I remember why, as a young sailor, I fell in love with Australia and all those lovely Aussie ladies...

    Re: The Flower girls

    Thanks Dave, Good points (& taken) & Excellent Critique.

    It's tough to add dimension @f1.4 as back ground simply melting away. On top of that, @85mm BG get compressed a bit. So I placed her in front of a few vegies layers to get that sense of space. The blurred blob of pink flowers in the FG was placed in the frame for the same reason. I guess in this case, distraction = attention if it works. Regarding posing, yes the knee in #3 is a bit out of place but these models are quite good & I didn't try to change their style that much ( whatever they were comfortable with on the day, I only asked them what mood/feeling they need to express). In studio however, I must have my pose .

    Again thanks for liking the images. I have been so busy that I haven't updated my Wix website for almost a year. I should update it with more images soon.

    Cheers
