    I was rather lazy, I should have swapped to my 60mm macro lens; but after hiking 6klm through soft sand all I could think of was cold beer.

    Tell me what sort of seed is #1. I kept seeing them somewhere near where water is but never really knew its name...
    #2 -- I am glad that is sand and not snow...if I see another snow, I'd stay inside the house in like, forever.

    Never any snow around here! I'm not sure what plant it is, most probably a relative of the Milkweed; the seedpod only contains dandelion like seed. It has pale yellow gooseberry like seed pods that burst when ripe. There is a similar seedpod that grows on a climbing vine, it contains a yellow or orange fruit which is edible (good Bush Tucker).
