    The central core need a bit of brightening a bit more...otherwise it is liveable.

    +1 to Izzie, but also apply a dose of Local Contrast Enhancement (LCE) and perhaps also sharpening in there too.

    Beautiful colors and composition Glenn I agree with Dave about adding some LCE and may be sharpening.

    nice composition. I see what Dave is responding to, but I don't think local contrast will take care of it. I tried quickly, and it didn't. I think the problem is insufficient DOF or a less than optimal point of focus. It looks like the pollen on the petals is in focus but that the leading edge of the stigma isn't. The exif is stripped, so I can't see the aperture you used. At the least, you would need a small aperture. For deep flowers like this one, I usually focus-stack because of limited DOF.
