    Old town - Tallinn Estonia

This is a two image manual time blend blend of the old town in Tallinn, Estonia. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved and intact medieval cities in Europe.

The images used were taken over the space of around 90 minutes starting at "golden hour" and finishing around the end of Civil twilight.

Nicely done, so often I'll shoot a twilight scene and then debate whether to properly expose or try to replicate what I see. Usually a bit of both.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I was introduced to the concept by photographer Elia Locardi, something he refers to blending different moments in time. I have been blending different images for quite some time, but the concept of taking shots during "golden hour" as well as during "blue hour" and using images shot during this longer period of time are a concept I've started to explore, and this is the first example of my examining this approach.

Elia has some more examples of the way he has applied this technique on his website.

I first thought I misunderstood what you wrote and did. Now I know I didn't. Interesting technique and good done. I'll look further at the link you gave.

I was intrigued by the concept too. The main downside of the technique is that it takes a long time and you don't want to touch your camera settings in case something move and ruins a few hours of shooting.

That means a book or a bottle. Or both.

    Will you visit Amsterdam too?

Unfortunately, we only had 10 days and we got home again on Sunday. Some of the other places in Europe will have to wait (again).

We used to get to Amsterdam quite regularly as KLM had a direct Ottawa - Amsterdam route, so we would often book flights using Schiphol as a destination and would spend some time in the area before moving on to other places. Sadly, this deteriorated to the KLM flight using less comfortable Martinair aircraft and finally the route was dropped altogether.

These days the best links to Europe and beyond seem to be via London Heathrow or Paris DeGaulle airports. In the summer season we also get direct flights to either Frankfurt or Munich.
