    Monarch feeding and pollinating Lantana

    The Monarchs only lay their eggs on Milkweed but they feed on any number of plants. This one is feeding on a Lantana next to my Milkweed and you can see that the proboscis actually snags pollen and transfers it to other flowers.

    Very nicely done, Brian...I supposed you crop it close to show some pollens...

    When you get close to a front on shot of a butterfly DOF becomes a problem. If it isn't from the side or straight on some part of the wing will be out of focus. In this case I thought it took up too much area of the image so I eliminated it.
