I am still smiling at these fun shots...During winter does this bird really look having a bad hair day...how long did you wait to catch these actions? I like the last birdie...but then I am biased towards red and orange colours...

Glad you enjoyed them Izzie. It was early afternoon and they were well fed for the day so they didn't mind my presence. The females are normally quite sleek.

The little lady was just having a good preen to get rid of all the spider webs they get tangled in when feeding. So I was luck she sat still for a few seconds.
The males put on a punk display when showing off for the camera. Alas they are always in dense scrub or behind tall grasses so I have to tweak manual focus and after most pics I say "Rats! missed focus again".

The lady really looks good here...you are right. The last one, needs a bit of eye sharpening...but it is still cute and I like his expression...You really did a good fun job with these ones...still smiling here...
