Easy access wildlife photography
In May every year the moose come down out of the mountains into town to get away from the bears and have their babies. Often in unbelievable locations. This one in the parking lot of a Lowes store. Some great photos posted by the local media. Link below.

Seems like a very safe spot to have your calf. I imagine the city takes a dim view of predatory bears within city limits. I wonder if natural selection will create moose that will tolerate humans around their calves and elect to calve in town. But I shudder to think of the havoc if a crowd of people gather and the cow decides to attack/protect her calf. Or if you are out for a walk and pass a clump of bushes on a residential street and an angry cow erupts with no warning.

Hi Dan:
Envy your summertime wildlife opportunities. Hope to get up there again some time next year.

The year I visited Estes Park, Colorado (Rocky Mountain National Park entrance) a woman in her garden got between a mother elk and her calf. The woman was severely injured.
