My bull frogs are starting to appear

I enjoy bull frogs.... This fellow recently decided to sit on the edge of the water/rock line to enjoy the sun. He looks a bit scruffy yet. I could clean the dirt from his face but I wanted to show him as he is. His colors haven't changed from hibernation much. But I liked this one of him.
CC is definitely welcome. I'm always interested in how I can improve!

Nice detail and color!

If you use a polarizer (you might have done that), you can minimize the glare that obscures color, texture and shape. Also consider adding a very slight vignette to the image.

The only very slight change I would make is to clone out those small spots in the top left corner.

What I currently have on the lens that I use most is a sky 1A filter. I put it there because I know what would happen to the lens if I didn't! It wasn't really expensive and I'd always hoped that it didn't degrade my pictures.

I do have a CPL filter in the little kit that I'd gotten with the camera but I've never used it. Not sure it is the best quality but maybe it would give me an idea perhaps of what you are suggesting?

In the meantime, I added a dark vignette to this pic and decided to try and get rid of the chunk of foliage hanging on this fellow's mouth. Is this a bit better?

Hi Sandy Your second edit improved the image a lot, very nice shot.The shadow on its right back leg seems a bit too strong and distracting, lifting the shadows there might help .

Hi Binnur! I see what you mean. Not sure if I know how to do that but "reading the manual" may provide instructions. Have I ever said - I really really dislike reading manuals? (Maybe I should make that byline part of my signature! LOL)

Sandy if you have a software which allows you to edit a part of the image selectively , it is not difficult to lift the shadows on that leg at all. Or you can use the dodge tool (if your software has one) to do the same thing

The vignette works very well and is no different from how the scene could have appeared.

Your polarizer, regardless of the quality, will eliminate some of the glare. (If all of the glare was on the same plane, you would be able to eliminate all of it.) Considering that it is inexpensive, it might add a color cast to the entire image.

I like the reflections, Sandy. I am with Binnur about lifting the shadows. Since you are using Lightroom, go to Nik's Software and download the Nik' Software Suite. It is free...
