    Frozen In Time

This is the clock / clock tower at the Manchester City Council building (4 frames stitched together). The sun did finally managed to chase away the overcast.

Nicely captioned and captured, I really like the mono processing.

Both very nice but I think the B&W image is more impressive

Thank you John and Binnur for your comments. I too like how the B&W processing came out.

Oh, that's a beauty. Super bit of B & W conversion. And a strong composition.

Finding sunshine in Manchester is a challenge. It has happened only a few days of the duration that I have visited, and usually the day that I am leaving.

I've seen this one yesterday. Today I looked at it again, hoping that someone would have mentioned that the top of your image needs a bit of perspective correction. No one did so far so I am commenting on it if it is OK with you...I like your image. I remember having that same kind of shot but while in Melbourne recently, I am just lazy to look for it because I rather sleep nowadays and get myself ready for my trips next week. These kind of clock towers nestled between the trees never fail to inspire. And this one is it too. Just need a bit of straightening. OK, there now! I have said it.

You could argue that it needs a bit of rotation to get the verticals vertical, but I'm not sure it needs any perspective correction.

I think it works very well just as it is and wouldn't touch it. No-one says verticals have to be vertical in photography!

Izzie, I did note that it did not look vertical, but when I did messed with the perspective a bit in Photoshop, I did not like the result. I'll look at doing a little rotation on it.

Donald -- I will always remember that Dave H thought me about some of my images that either need a straightening up or rotation. Some folks like John 2, John Shadowman, Geoff and others commented on how I should do it -- use the perspective tool or warp tool or something else like the grid and go from there. I had mentioned that perspective tool because that was the closes I always use. I always think that verticals should be verticals in photography apart from a few images I have seen so far and will probably stick to thinking that way until such a time that I can claim fame to your way of thinking...it will take a lifetime for me...and I will stick to the conventional way of thinking. Also as John has mentioned (Digital Scape) he tried it himself and did not like it. I was just suggesting. I am sorry for not being able to express myself in the right kind of English you understand as I had said before -- I am not a native English speaking/thinking person. I tried with writing, but so far to go with the thinking without translating to your proper English language norm.

    Good day!

    Re: Frozen In Time

I can see what Izzie is saying but in this case I wouldn't change a thing. Izzie, I think it's the corner on viewpoint that gives that impression. The mono is particularly appealing. That slight grittiness is quite appropriate for these old northern buildings.
