I prefer the black and white version, too. I would remove the white bit at the bottom middle of frame.

Yes, the B/W version. Very nice. The color version perhaps if there was more color in the sky. But as is, the B/W let's us fill in sky color as our imaginations choose. Nicely done.
I envy you the opportunity to go paddling before/after work every day. Then again.... I no longer work at all
