Don't Worry Jr., Momma's Got Your Back!
In a tree, in someone's front yard, 100' from major highway construction......does this qualify as wilderness photography?

When their space is threatened by "improvements" they tend to go down to civilization, so yes, in my own little world, this can be considered a wilderness shot. Anyway, there are more than some two legged wild denizens living and breeding amongst us.
Beautiful shot, Randy.

Thanks Izzie. I really must stop again tomorrow to get a wide angle shot. There are two eaglets in the nest. The best view is a cautious glance while driving 65 mph on a single lane, curving ramp lined with orange barrels. Quite scenic

I don't think wilderness. But definitely wildlife
That one is ready to fledge. They're just laying eggs up here.

Re: Don't Worry Jr., Momma's Got Your Back!
I have been monitoring this nest for 2 years. Two years ago they paired up late and were unsuccessful, last year was no activity, this year I was glad to see that they have succeeded in rearing two offspring.....the second was cropped out of the shot. What gets me is the nest is literally over a driveway with small children playing below and normal comings and goings on a daily basis. I drive up slowly, roll down my window....and get screeched at. I'm thinking that the homeowners have trained them as guard-birds
Dan- You are correct, these two are ready to fledge. The MnDNR has an eagle cam set up somewhere, there were three eaglets in that nest. All left the nest last weekend, it is surprising to have viewed the camera feed earlier today to see one fledgling back in the nest being fed by an adult.

I'd say so. Nicely captured. We had a local farmer charged with killing two eagles recently, when habitats mesh the lines between wilderness and civilization get slightly blurred. Nice captures.
