    For the Gold

    For the Gold

    f/5.3, ISO 500, 1/3200sec

Was shot slightly underexposed and chose to exploit during post-processing, comments welcome.

    John,

Excellent capture. I would however, prefer that the female runner be brightened a bit which would separate her from the background and look like she was running into sunlight from shade...

Nice composition and good use of lighting to highlight/isolate the main subject. Well done.

I agree with Dan -- I am taken by the lighting, the action, the exposure and composition. It has enough blur to see what the other competitors, runners are doing to support and balance this image. 56/10 info -- is this a bracketed shot? Just curious...

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for comments, I did do another edit where I brightened the runner, I was playing with the sliders in Viveza and saw the transformation in the skin tones and thought why not?

    Hi Izzie,

The shot was not bracketed, I think the effect of light/shade and the differing speeds of the runners creates a dimensional effect . Thanks for commenting.

Nicely done John. Great lighting as has already been said but I like the low viewpoint as well.
