Your images, the first two of them are soft. Did you check your focus or are these passing-by-in-a-hurry shots? Just asking...I used to do this kind of thing, not checking my focus carefully, just shooting as soon as I can see an image at the back of my camera screen but having used my camera (this one that I have right now) made me want to improve on my images both in pp and in actual shooting. The more I learn, the more I get better. Not perfect yet s the variables are to sink yet but at least on the focus side of things, I had improved a lot. I hope you get what I am trying to say here...Do not be discouraged, just keep at it, shoot more, try to shoot better than last time. Your last image here seems to get it with almost the native base ISO of 200 which I must admit is a bit saturated but it suits this image very well. Equally as interesting is your subject here too. Just me...I must overthinking this piece...even thought it is too early in the morning to think...![]()
I wish I had a couple of good looking birds for neighbours.![]()
Nice opportunities and efforts.
We were clearly of a similar state of mind yesterday.
Skies were a challenge, I needed to do a bit of adjusting to get exposure right.
What I am thinking is going out tomorrow at between 6 & 7 AM for better light, get set up on a solid support, take a couple test shots, and wait for the best composition.....all this while sipping a Caribou. We'll let non-Minnesotans scratch their heads.
If they were my neighbors, I'd be photographing them every day.
I am just wondering whether you viewed this shot on a LCD or through the lens viewfinder. It seems like the camera selected the tree limbs in the BG as a point of focus.
I have noticed that I am exceptionally more accurate in focus through the viewfinder.
Now that's a classy neighborhood. Beautiful couple.
I like the 2nd shot, Paul. If they were perched like that next door to me, I would be watching over my shoulder.
Thanks for the tips. These shots were taken on the run and cropped. Last week I was at my place in Wyoming and came within 50 yards of a large bull Moose while fishing. No pictures of this big fella as I was planning my escape.
