Shots from Louisiana & Texas coasts

It's been difficult to focus on photography the last couple of years, but occasionally I'm able to make a trip. These photos are from January, taken in several national wildlife refuges along the coast of Louisiana and Texas. There's too many for C&C, although that is always welcome and appreciated. I mostly wanted to share, since I've been absent for so long, to reintroduce myself.

Wonderful series, Terri! I wish we could convince you to hang out around here a bit more.

    +1

I've traveled between Houston and New Orleans a good few times with nothing but snaps in a box somewhere to show for it

That's a treasure chest of shots Terri. Love them all. The second is a particularly good piece of work for me. The luminosity is lovely.

    They all work for me.

#2 has a few background issues so I would blend the obvious shapes, particularly that circle shape, a little more into the background.

Nice set, Terri. Those waders have an annoying habit of standing in front of busy BGs. The backlit snake bird is awesome. And a nice presentation of the marsh. Well done.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments.

The Anhinga was the most challenging bird for me. They were predictable in that they hung out in the same areas every day but they were always obstructed by branches. The have beautiful wings that they spread out to dry but I never caught one in the open.

Well, I had a picture to include but TinyPic has apparently been hacked. Glad I previewed the post as the picture that was substituted could have been embarrassing!
