First British bug this year.
After a couple of days in London we arrived at Farm #1. We'll be here for a bit over a week visiting old friends then off to another farm in Kent.
I went for a little stroll this morning and came across this little 1" bug in the bushes. It appeared to be having another bug for breakfast.

Re: First British bug this year.
Hi Brian, Not the easiest of captures. It is a 'Tiger' Cranefly - Nephrotoma sp. I find they are quite difficult to photograph since they are skittish in the open and tend to hide up deep in vegetation. Any disturbance and they are off. Probably not too surprising since just about everything else eats them!
I'm not sure it was eating another insect, they do not live long as adults, basically flying to search for mates, and then dying.
