The thread has taken an odd turn. An explanation of what "all these processes are post-sensor" has to do with what I said would be helpful because I don't really get it, sorry.
To me, for example, there is a huge difference between cameras that have an Analog Front End (AFE) and those that do not. "Over-exposing" a capture with an AFE-equipped camera will blow the raw data, no matter what ISO is selected. With a so-called ISO-less camera, the more ISO is selected, the more headroom you get because the raw data now "tells the truth" - because high ISO, so beloved and used by many triangulistas, actually means abysmally low sensor exposures with all that that implies (noise, etc).
Please help me understand the ISO fetish (tears emoticon) . . .
