    Street commerce

Taken in in heart of the original Chinatown district here in Toronto.
In addition to the bricks and mortar stores, there is a great deal of commerce that takes place on tables, blankets, and overturned cartons on the wide sidewalks of the area. Everything from fruits and vegetables to watches and jewellery can be bought from the sidewalk entrepreneurs who crowd the streets.
Liking her Asian hat, I got this grabshot of a woman selling beads and necklaces and her prospective customer.

Where is the original location of Chinatown, I took a tour a few years ago and I thought the tour guide said near Nathan Phillips Square? Nicely captured, even with the watch this image could be considered timeless; well at least a few decades past.

    John,
Nathan Phillips Square is at Bay and Queens Streets, and the original Chinatown district runs north along Spadina from about Queen street up to College and along Dundas from University west to Spadina. All within walking distance.
And thanks for commenting on the shot.

    Robert,

I like the shot and agree with John. If you hadn't said where it was taken, I would have thought otherwise.

    Sergio,
The south-east Asian "feel" of the composition is what first attracted me to it.
