Day Dream Believer
I went for a classic look with this one. It was done with an 85mm.

I am not as keen on this image as I was of your the previous beautiful shots of this lovely young lady. I "think" that is due to her arm being partially obscured by the grass... IMO this lady's greatest (ALTHOUGH CERTAINLY NOT HER ONLY) attribute are her magnificent eyes and this image doesn't seem to do them justice. Perhaps a closer crop?

I think you did a great job with her light skin tones and dark take on her hair. I find the red gloves are too potent an accent piece and detract from her more mild tones.

Nice effort, the 85mm can do wonders with optimum lighting. I like your soft effect treatment here and only comment would be to be mindful of the line effect of the row of bushes in background. I think the layered look would be more effective If there was another row or two behind her, as shown the very last row is a bit distracting. All of the rows behind her are straight, yet the row in front is at an angle; the break in pattern isn't that calming; more of a jarring effect.

Lovely and technically well done.
The image looks a bit cold to me and I suggest warming it a bit.

Dean, I rather like this portrait. I do agree with John that the break in the hedge to the left is a bit distracting. In my very humble opinion. Is it my eyes or do I see catch lights in her eyes from a flash?

Re: Day Dream Believer
I like it Dean, but I'd have considered giving the background more blur. I know you like to show some detail in your surroundings, but here I don't think it's necessary. I'd also encourage you to move your subjects out of the centre of the frame, at least some of the time - this would work well with a crop from the right to position her more at the third I feel.
Having said that, it's beautifully lit (I'm presuming off camera flash and nd filter) and it's a beautiful pose of a beautiful model. I'm finding your series of these images really inspiring, and look forward to seeing more (and getting out to shoot a model or two myself sometime soon).
