On the farm: an English Robin at last

For the last week these quick little birds have avoided standing still long enough for me to get a shot. FInally!

No good for nature competitions but I like this shot.

Are you at your place at Dunstable? This robin looks so small. It looks sad. My backyard robins are fat and stay away from the feeder because it likes its food fresher no matter what time of the year. I like your composition here too even though this post is about the robin.

English Robins are an entirely different birds than the American Robin. They are smaller, more like a flycatcher.

I'm not in Dunstable anymore, that property is gone now but we still come to stay at a self-catered cottage on a nearby farm. This is in Olney Buckinghamshire near Milton Keynes. It's a working farm and they rent out a couple of old workers houses. Nicely done up and an easy walk into the woods and fields.

Nice to see one with a full beak; and some flowers to put everything into context.

Sounds like a wonderful place to stay in for the peace and quiet and just doing your own thing...I will want to think of places like this to stay away from the maddening crowd and the closes I've been is a working dude farm at Wyoming.
