The Passage of Time
Had this idea for a Triptych whilst my other half and I were visiting an art exhibition in some cattle pens. Comment on the idea and execution very welcome.

Re: The Passage of Time
I like it John, interesting presentation. At first I thought it was the same washers taken over a long interval of months, then I noticed the post was different. Cool....

Re: The Passage of Time
Excellent concept; but since they are different images, a bit compromised, i am afraid

Re: The Passage of Time
great concept! Good opportunity for masking to overcome the issues others noted.

Re: The Passage of Time
Nice idea indeed & coming from a farm, I can remember struggling with many a gate like this, not too easy for a little taker to get them closed, whilst Dad was in the tractor waiting on me!
I would line thm up without overlap & maybe a different font, that one doesn't for me suit the theme.

Re: The Passage of Time
Nice presentation John. They might also look good side by side with very thin white borders as seperation

Re: The Passage of Time
Thanks all for the comments. Yes, they are all different gate posts. The idea was to represent three stages of decay and although it didn't occur to me, I don't think the organisers of the craft fair would have allowed me to move washers around so that I could use the same post. I just went off and found suitable examples in separate pens.
Kay/Binnur, I must admit that I did not think over long about the font. Perhaps something else might have been more appropriate but the overlap was deliberate. The shape that the overlap makes at the bottom right hand corner of each image mirrors the shape of the hinge and its support. Just my thoughts at the time.

Re: The Passage of Time
Interesting concept, John. I am not keen on having the title inside the frame, though. I find it a distracts form the subject.

Re: The Passage of Time
Thanks Greg, thanks Joe.
Greg, truth be known, it's something I normally avoid as well but I thought the space needed filling and I only had the three images. C'est la vie.
