Of possible interest to landscape photographers in the UK
There's a symposium taking place at Bank Street Arts, Sheffield on 23rd July. It is led by Jesse Alexander who is head of photography at the Open College of the Arts (OCA), at which I am a student doing my BA (Hons) in Photography. It is entitled : New Pastoral Paradigms: Explorations in Landscape and the Self and you can get details at - http://bankstreetarts.com/events/newpastoralparadigms/.
If you do book up, I'll see you there.
I learned about this at a study day we had yesterday at the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, looking at the work in the Taylor Wessing Portrait competition. The day was led by Dr Wendy Munro, a past winner of the competition, before it was sponsored by Taylor Wessing. There is really so much more you get out of an exhibition like this when it is led by a professional artist. More information about this is at - http://www.npg.org.uk/whatson/twppp-2015/exhibition.php

I'm sorry I can't be there. I thought some of those landscape examples, for example by Jesse Alexander and John Umney are exceptional.
