    Baie St. Paul

Part of our recent travel to Canada was out of Montreal. Several people, including Manfred, had recommended a visit to Baie St Paul. We arrived to glorious sunshine but the next morning was misty, grey and later wet. Time to get the walking gear on......

We'd been told about an old wreck in the bay so combined a walk with a photography trip. When I saw it I knew I wanted the images I took to be in black and white. I have tried to capture the whole structure in its setting to show it live in life even if it is now pretty useless as a ship. I did take some close shots too but as I am trying to improve my 'single photo says a thousand words' skills will not post them here.

Further research indicates the schooner was built in the 1950's and has been on the Baie since 2009, seemingly left there to rot rather than actually a wreck. Last year it was set on fire and this is all that now remains..

    Baie St. Paul

    C&C welcome

Thanks Nandakumar. There are other pictures of this ship around which gives a sense of what it was and how quickly it has deteriorated.

Very nice, at first I thought it was actually sailing in the water.

Thanks for viewing John. I guess when the tide comes in it would 'sail', although it is very shallow there so she is firmly stuck in the sand now
