Hi Simon,
If I had shot this, I might be wishing I had removed the camera(?) bag from the table and hidden the cables better over on the right - perhaps even removed the heater(?). Beyond that, it gives the impression of a homely, comfortable scene and is well captured.
One other thing; I feel it lacks a full tonal range, setting of the black and white points would, I feel, improve it.
HTH, Dave
PS, we have 3 cats and 3 dogs, but they rarely, if ever, all relax alongside each other as depicted here.

Thanks for your comments, Dave. Much appreciated. Two things in response: one, if I can say this without being defensive - I like the cables and the camera bag and the messiness. I like the fact the heater points towards the main subject (my wife). I'm inclined to think (and take this with a pinch of salt) that the cluttered scene contributes to the 'realness' of the photo.
With regards to the tonal range, I hear what you are saying, but I must admit I have no idea how to improve it. I've tried to adjust the pic using curves and/or levels in Photoshop, and picking the white/black/midtone levels, but all that's resulted is a much harsher image without any graduation. I'd very much appreciate any advice here.
PS: This is only part of it. We have six cats and three dogs. And they never all relax together.
Nice storytelling image, agree about the tonal range.
