    Simon, beautiful! The sky is just amazing, so much so that if it were up to me, I would crop at least 2/3 (if not 3/4) of the foreground grasses.

    Agreed. Despite the title of the thread, the vineyard is not the primary subject, at least not in my mind; do everything to show off that sky, allowing the mountains and the vineyard to play wonderful supporting roles.

    Thanks all. Jack, Mike and Binnur, yes, I agree about the crop. This pic was one of six I took intending to turn it into a panorama, so I gave myself extra space at the bottom to allow for the curve that results (as below).

    One of those situations where the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts, I think.

    Thanks, Nandakumar. Yes and no. I shot the pic in RAW, and boosted the clarity a bit, and then I ran it through Nik Silver Effects Pro. But I didn't manipulate the sky in any way other than that. I think I was pretty lucky it turned out the way it did.

    I think you were pretty darn good to come upon the scene, recognize its potential and make a photo that lives up it.
