Photo hosting site recommendations please.

Hello all
I am not hapy with the way my shots appear on CiC and I believe that this is because I am not embedding a URL from a hosting website. Is this correct? If so, could the membership please recommend one which is permissible in PRC?

I've never heard of Tinypics. Will try to get onto it later tonight.
People's Republic of China. Different sites are accessible in different parts of the country, often for no apparent reason. I smoke briar pipes and for a while there was a problem with sites which sells them. MY colleague (a fellow briarman) and I conducted a small experiment one day after being exasperated with local policy. So we typed in "Smoking pipes" and got a nil result. Then we typed in the most disgusting sexual terms we could think of and got 10,000 results!

As to what is not accessible from the PRC, I'm afraid I have no idea about that.

Yeah, Flickr got banned a while ago.

I don't have any way of knowing what is permissible in the PRC, but I've used Smugmug for years and am pleased with it. It isn't free.

HELP THREAD: How can I post images here?

I find going through Tinypics works OK providing you resize your images before attempting an upload. I resize to 1200 pixels on the long side although I think the maximum is 1600.

Also, I link images directly from my P base galleries but I'm not sure if P base is an approved site for you. There is a small annual charge which tends to restrict it to the more serious users so that might make it acceptable to the authorities.
