    Dave - are you removing the CA BEFORE you move the file over to PhotoMatix? I suspect it might be enhancing an underlying problem with the base image.

    Manfred, I didn't remove the CA beforehand in Lightroom so I suspect you are correct. Today I did utilize the remove CA button in Lightroom before exporting to Photomatix. Then while in Photomatix I did very little before exporting back to Lightroom for finishing processing. Most of the CA is now gone but not all.

    ACR / Lightroom do an okay job on automatic, but every so often I have to dive in and tweak the CA correction manually, in those cases where the cleanup isn't 100%. That is what the defringe sliders are for.
