Have you tried a levels adjustment just to see what could be revealed?

levels was what got me the black sky background. I should have remembered clarity in titles. I meant as an avatar at 80-80 it was hard to see the details. In reality this was a rather small water droplet on a green leaf. I will be doing the whole shot later but this seemed to me a fair representation of how I see the world through camera lens.
