Unusual shots, Joe...I much prefer #1 between the two of these...
#2 has some artistic potential to be explored! A good challenge--Looks more like a middle eastern site than Toronto for those of us not steeped in the profile of specific buildings!
Canada Goose: Backlit by Sunrise

All good and some potentially tricky exposures have come out well.
Lovely shot Joe:) The yellow color cast adds to the look of the water but I think the color of the goose needs correcting a bit selectively

Beautiful colors! Are you still focusing on composition as your goal for improvement for the year?
I liked the abstract quality of the second one. The improvements in composition that would attract me as a viewer are these:
1. cropping in just a little from both sides and possibly a small amount off the top
2. increasing saturation just a smidgen except in the very top of the sky.
3. increasing clarity in the orange water to provide just a little more textural interest.
Clearly, once again, this is all personal preference. You have wonderful colors as a starting place!
Enjoying your new set of images; all have something special about them :)
Some more tricky scenes which have been well handled.
I like #2 and #3 Joe :) IMO the setting sun in the first image deserves a better composition. Nice colors and I like the calmness but the big tree doesn't work well.
Thanks Judith. Yes still working on improving composition. Your suggestions are welcome. Here are the changes I have made based on your suggestions:

I will try an alternate composition:

This has removed half of the offending tree and ( hopefully) makes the sunrise more prominent.
It looks better than the original Joe. I shot something like this in the past ( setting sun through a big tree) too and I had the same problem with the composition. So, I usually don't prefer to shoot those kind of scenes now unless I'm sure it is a great composition :)
