Good captures Richard.
I have recently had some kingfishers of the collared variety we have here in Fiji as frequent visitors in my garden which is next to the mangroves. Two nights ago one came through the open door into the house and we managed to get it back out safely.
Then just today a rare small beautiful black red and yellow honey-eater hit a window and landed on the news paper I was reading, totally knocked out. It revived slowly in my hand and ten minutes later I was able to release it.
Nice captures.
I kinda prefer the second shot better...the poor light and very heavy crop still works well...it is only the heavy crop you are worried about. The result is still excellent. I was about to say increase the highlight in the eyes of #1 until I saw the beautiful pose of #2...The last one has pretty colours.
Richard well done. It is annoying how little the lighting can behave itself when you need it.
I always enjoy viewing shots of the Kingfishers.
Excellent images
That second shot is great. The light in the eye makes up for the challenging lighting conditions. Beautiful colors.
Nice series. The second shot is a cracker. I love the light in this one. My only thought is that you don't need all of the RHS. It would stand about a 20% crop.
