Great photographs Peter but as interesting as it maybe I don't think it looks comfortable enough to stay there.

Nice images Peter that capture the essence of what it must have been like to live there, I particularly like the use of selective colour in the mono. I tend to bang on a bit about the use of selective colour being appropriate when it adds something not just for the sake of it and it works for me here. As for straightening the verticals, some images are just a lost cause but in this case I think they just add to the feel of the place.

Thanks Paul and John for looking and commenting. I'm glad you liked these images.
We visited two sites with these houses. At the first site they had two of the houses as museums one had the usual video on a loop style of presentation. Very interesting from a historical perspective. However the other one of the two had a fireplace and chimney. It also had about six other houses that were available as holiday rentals.
The Arnol site is managed by one of the Scottish historical trusts. It only had this blackhouse, plus a blackhouse ruin and more modern house (apparently called a white house) across the road from it.

The interior shots are excellent. The lighting is good and well managed and they convey a real sense of what it is like in there.
