I think I may have found this years Christmas pressy for my two boys.

At 7 and 13 it is unlikely they'll get into analogue photography (?) so this would be a great way of showing them how it all worked when dad was a lad and let them produce an interesting form of hard copy to all the digital photographs they take.

You never know, while I loved to receive a table top book of imagery (almost always black and white) when I received my first camera kit it came with B & W film so I didn't think it odd to see the output. I think when we are at a young age we just try out the technology and worry about the options later.
