A trip up Mount Evans, Colorado

Just returned from a trip up the highest paved road in North America (according to Wikipedia). I'm a bit late in the year so the Mountain Goats and Big Horn Sheep are shedding and shaggy but there are young ones to photograph and an abundance of wildflowers.

Thank you Donald, Richard, Rita and Chuck for the nice comments. It's a great place to go for almost guaranteed sitings. My next trip will be a bit more out of the way from tourists and more of a challenge to find my subjects. But the part I like best - quiet time in nature - will be much more abundant.

Looks like it took some serious ascending to get these Terri,

    Nice light too.

The background in #3 is amazing.

Thanks, Dave. Yes, it was quite an ascent. I'd been up that mountain a few times but this was the first time I drove. I'm used to mountain driving but there are a couple of narrow, sheer drop-off curves that made me nervous. But well worth it! Now, if only I could breathe well at that altitude!
