    This is a nice rendition of a difficult situation. I like the streaking of the light. I love Anhingas. So far for me, they've always been in difficult spots - either backlit or surrounded by branches. And waiting them out takes much patience!

    This one doesn't work for me. The flare, if that is what it is, detracts and distracts me from the bird.

    The flare was deliberate and pretty much exactly what I saw...the birds themselves are so common and frankly, for me, boring to shoot (though I shoot every one I see :-)). I just wanted to present him in a more artsy light...and if every shot I ever made worked for everyone, well move over Annie Liebowitz.
