It was a dark and stormy night 2
Another shot of the same slough, the same night just a bit latter and looking north. It was a dark and stormy night
A bit of a challenge given the setting sun, overcast sky so the foreground was dark and the reflections off the water. I am getting comfortable with the Capture One program and quite happy with the ability to recover shadows. I prefer this to my attempts at HDR as it seems more realistic. (Personal preference more than anything)
Left the foreground dark , I tried it brighter just did not seem as effective an image. Any comments, thoughts or critiques more than welcome

Re: It was a dark and stormy night 2
Again, another lovely shot that appeals to my own sense of mystery and suspense.....though I sort of-kind of-maybe a little don't see the image as "Dark and Scary," but rather a little more enlightening as if watching the sky reveal itself after a storm..
This edit is just opens up that sky a tee-tiny bit, tones down the brightness in the water as Binnur has and gives a bit more life to the precarious bridge.
I am not sure there is enough difference between the three to give two hoots and a holler about..nut I did enjoy exploring your exposure.

Thanks Binnur and Chris. Always good to have this sort of thoughtful response. Again I will flip back and forth between the versions to give the variables time to sink in.
The bridge and pathway are that tilted. I guess I am used to it but it is bit precarious and worsening. I was actually debating on this last trip how I would deal with being dumped into three feet of muck and slime if the bridge or pathway collapsed. Adds spice to the trip to the bridge and back.
