My co workers were watching me process my images of the foxes in my woodpile Foxes in the Woodpile and wanted to see how it would look in black and white. They were disappointed in the initial attempt as the tones of the foxes were too close to the wood to really stand out.
I did a bit of fiddling to bring them out; still not impressive to them. Then I said " Well: there is a technique called selective colourization, but I really think it can be a bit garish and is not really my thing". They wanted me to demonstrate as my explanation of how it looks fell short of illuminating their understanding. So I decided to show them with every intention of deleting the colourized version. They loved it, so much so that I was forced to keep it then show it to every Tom,Dick and Harry who came in.
To add insult to my artistic sensitivity, I was asked by several to share it so they could use it as a screen saver. No one has ever asked this before.
Is there hope for my soul now that I have done selective colourization?
