Crepuscular Rays
On the beach again this morning and was greeted by a display of sun's rays beaming through the clouds. I had some trouble capturing this event and spent a lot of time in PP trying to recreate what I saw. This is what I finally settled on though it is not as I saw it.
ISO 200, f 8, 24mm lens, 1/500 sec.
C&C welcome.

Re: Crepuscular Rays
Well Joe...this is nicely done. It probably need some more colouring. Did you try Nik's Colour Efex effects. I am thinking of graduated filters with the slight push or pull of the vertical slider. This is a perfect scene complete with a birdie.

Re: Crepuscular Rays
A nice scene Joe, very calm It might look better if you can clone that part of tree on the RHS. Sun rays look really nice. There is a small difference between the color of the reflections in the sea and the clouds. Increasing the saturation of yellows in the sky might help for the balance in the colors.

Re: Crepuscular Rays
This is a beautiful picture Joe - those rays look stunning. I can't comment on how it looked to your eyes (of course!) but as a picture I agree with Izzie and feel it could benefit from a little more selective saturation. I'd also tone down the clarity on the water, and either crop or clone out that tree on the right. Cloning will be harder but better compositionally.

Re: Crepuscular Rays
Nicely done, I often try to capture these type of scenes. I usually try to make use of filters, either neutral density or cpl.

Nice moment and capture. I liked the composition a lot, congrats!
I will take notes of the very useful tips of the people her for my photos too.
