    Lisa Marie

One of the varieties of Sweet Pea I've sown for use in the garden this year. Backlit with natural light (through a bay window) with a black card about two metres beyond the flower processed in LR then a dose of NIK Define and sharpened/resized for the web.

Not only photographed but grown from seed too. Excellent.

Love the backlighting and hairs on the stem, along with the diagonal placement.

I like it but am thinking that if you went through that much set up and there is no wind to move the flower, why not increase the depth of field so the front of the flower is as sharp as the back?

Thanks for taking time to look and comment Chris, I do see what you mean about the DOF. This is the Exif image as posted "ISO100, f16, 3sec" Tripod used. I suspect to get a greater DOF I would have been in to a stacking scenario, which wasn't my intention for this shoot.

Probably no more than two, maybe three in the stack as it is only just a bit out. I don't like focus stacking which requires any more than four..for me it would be easier to use a tilt-shift lens than to go through all that wasted motion.
