Timing out during posting. Mods please advise.
Hello Mods.
Twice today I have finished my post and then clicked "post reply" only to be directed to the login screen and told I am not authorised to post. I understand that this is probably just a default setting. Could the mods please advise how long the cut-off point is, so I can work around it?

Have drawn Sean's (McQ's) attention to this. Suspect it's one of those weird glitches that come along from time-to-time anmd affect only a small number of people. I've never heard of it as being an issue before.

Thanks
It has happened on one other forum I was a member of a while ago.

We are wondering whether it might be a feature of where you are Steve.
None of us mods have had that exact message before, nor heard of it (that I recall).
The standard/default internet time out for a session is 20 minutes, this may be set on websites or other servers you route through to reach CiC.
The fact you get thrown to a log in screen is significant.
Do you use the "Remember me" feature?
If not, try it, it may avoid the log in issue.
Thereafter, be aware that leaving a tab open for a significant period before replying to a post can cause time out issues - even I get these occasionally.
Regards, Dave

You get to know the signs of 'outside influence' after a while, so I don't think it's that. I'll take 20 mins as a guideline. But yeah, at least once I left the reply tab open for maybe 25 mins while I footered about with other things. Time just goes when you're online.

I experienced a glitch something similar to that and it was when I was responding to a post. I had since remedied it by copying my post and shutting my access, take several deep breaths then re-open my access again. It worked. But this incident was a long time ago, perhaps a year or so? First thing I did after logging in again is go to the same message, paste my reply then moved on to another post. It hasn't happened ever since Sean fixed the system. I think this last fix is more stable. I haven't encountered any problem at all...everything is honky-dory here on my side of the pond.
