Hi Arnold,
I'd call that a "Damsel fly", here's why.
However, to address the image with the type of comment you were more likely after ...
There are a lot of good things in this, I think the only thing I would change would be a small crop off the lower edge to remove that foreground blurred arc (presumably another leaf). It could potentially even be cloned out, if you wanted to maintain the current aspect ratio of the picture.
I am slightly surprised the 'tail' (incorrect term, I know) is so soft, I cannot see any useful EXIF data that might explain that. Can I ask how it was shot?
HTH, Dave
It is actually a Demoiselle. And the Banded Demoiselle form (Calopteryx virgo)
Very difficult to get these long models all in focus. You have to be absolutely square on to them with a narrow aperture (typically F14 to F16) and, of course, as you move around to the perfect shooting position they fly away. I always take a shot like this for identification before attempting a different position for that perfect shot. Most times I fail.
But at least the head area is well focused and that is the main part. There is a bit of noise in the background but that could easily be selectively reduced. In most cases, you have to accept what is available in the way of backgrounds.
