    Cleopatra's Needle

The twin Egyptian obelisks (aka Cleopatra's needle) are located in New York City and London (there is also a obelisk in Paris and it's twin is still in Egypt). The new York City obelisk is located in Central Park, and the London one is on the Thames river new the Embankment underground station (not too far from the Palace of Westminster). The London obelisk is not located is area that makes photographing it very easy.

NYC's obelisk on the left, London's on the right.

Nice images; a beautiful sky with glowing clouds enhanced the quality of the second image

I do not know which one I like best, John...both of them has the look-at-me style piercing the sky. The bottom one is more "artistic" and the first one is straight forward. I am gearing towards liking the last one better...Both nice good shots and exposure...

    Re: Cleopatra's Needle

It looks very cool! I first learned about Cleopatra's Needle when I read interesting information about Cleopatra at https://papersowl.com/examples/cleopatra/. It was here that I learned that Cleopatra's Needle was the name for each of the three Ancient Egyptian obelisks re-erected in London, Paris, and New York City during the nineteenth century. The obelisks in London and New York are a pair; the one in Paris is also part of a pair originally from a different site in Luxor, where its twin remains.

Nicely done. Artistically I prefer the second too.
