    Excellent Brian.

Getting this close is when the real fun starts and they jump up on the camera

That is indeed quite amazing. I've never done macro, but it does introduce us to a who different world.

I think, now, you just need to get the model to smile a bit!

Sorry Donald, that's its "happy" face!

Excellent capture Brian. You have a really good DoF,

How big is it? Over here jumping spiders are quite small, our zebra spider is about 2-4 mm on average. (Also a lot less colourful.)

It is much bigger than our usual jumping spider. It would have sat comfortably on my little finger fingernail. Looked a lot like a moving twig. It is quite possible that I'm wrong about the ID.

Super shot Brian Did you use any extension tubes for this shot or is it just your macro lens ?

It is so often the case that the simple things are the often most overlooked things that take a good shot into a much better shot. Keep on improving, Brian.

Amazing shot Brian, and it doesn't disappoint at 100% - folks, use LyteBox (click on image) then hit "F" key to see what I mean.

Probably you best macro to date (although that's a hard call to make these days).

I hope to keep on improving. Before we got too many neighbors with two much light I enjoyed star gazing. I got about half the Herschel 400 with a 4.5" reflector. I enjoy getting the best out of the equipment.

Thanks Dave, I must for the record state that this shot had a fair bit of luck involved. He or she was on the bottom of the leaf when I set up to shoot she scampered to the top of the leaf facing in the right direction. There was a slight breeze that died down and I managed to get the tripod set up without scaring the spider. The rest as they say is history.
