    Australian Art

I enjoyed visiting some art galleries in Australia in June. There were some wonderful Aboriginal paintings and a variety of humorous sculptures. A few samples are shown below including the R18 efforts of an artistic farmer. I welcome comments on either the photography or the art.

Paul -- #4 comes with a further story. I like the innovation of #2. The use of a bicycle wheel chain as a frame is brilliant, also the flash from a kitchen steamer. Excellent shots by the way, exposure all right.

If things like the third image are high art, I better not stand still too long in a gallery or someone will slap an exhibit sign on me. I have the same sartorial style.

The last image shows how classy Australian art has become and how altruistic Aussies are that they would create sculptures celebrating helping others . The figure in front is definitely stuck in the mud and the one behind is helping her get free.

I tried it twice a while ago and it won't work either. Maybe because of the f* word in the title...just google "Cooky's Creation Australia" and look for the title that starts with "Farmer Flat Out Refuses to take down sculpture he made despite police pressure...."

I thought you may do the odd bit of washing but I have never visualised you in a dress before..... .... and I will avoid doing it again if at all possible.

Izzie found an article that indicates that the NSW Police have not understood the hay art work. Obviously in your work you specialise in small domestic animals.

Now you left me wondering what Trevor would look like in a dress, silly man!

Interesting set, Paul, and well captured. The skin tones on the housewife look decidedly more Alaskan than Australian. The detergent would work either way.

I have to confess I did not do my normal careful adjustment of WB and skin tones that I would for such high class portraiture.

In general I enjoyed the modern artwork I saw. There was a good sense of humour with some and very little that I felt was pretentious rubbish.
