I think you might enjoy it full size in the light-box![]()
Nicely captured.
I can well imagine you were too excited when you started to see what sort of image you had here.
Excuse my stupidity, but are we viewing it in the correct orientation? It's not meant to be rotated clockwise by 90 degrees?
Incredible detail. Well done, Brian.
Well spotted, Brian. A classic shot.
Maybe I would consider cloning out those two bright pollen specks on its nose but otherwise perfect.
When it is time for the emergence of the winged version ( I have no idea the technical terms) the cicada digs in claws and splits the exoskeleton along the back just behind the head. They use this angle (intelligence? instinct?) to get a boost from gravity.
If you look at the 'white thread' you will notice how it is attached to both bodies and might act as a safety line until the cicada can fly away.
The wings are beautiful! Noisy but beautiful! Great shot!
I do not feel guilty at all now Brian for helping to talk you into going for the macro lens
Excellent, but I prefer looking at it rotated.
Such a terrific shot!!! please don't forget to rotate 90 and to post![]()
