Basic subject is fine but I would slightly and selectively tone down the background highlights.

A first-rate photo, and a good looking specimen. The fritillaries I usually see have quite ragged wings. I also am partial to what I term "butterfly profile" photos like yours. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice ... i scrolled up and viewed the image in such a way that only upper half of the flower alone is in the frame, leaving behind its petals and other bottom details; then i found it more attractive... (personal)

Like your second crop/rendering best Jim. Maybe a bit more room at the top, but thats really nitpicking
The pattern is the same, but coloration of a Gulf Fritillary is strikingly different. Better with toned down BG though I think it could go down a bit more as it does tend to compete.
