I have been a long Nikon user since films and never had any problem at all apart from my ignorance of using it. Now I am using this camera extensively, never bumped it, been very careful, never lend it to anyone and it happened. I should have looked for a solution or ask CiC members but I opted to send it for repairs instead. Then when I got home, I found a solution…clean my contacts, both the camera and the lenses. I never had to do that before…and I have owned other Nikons longer than this one. Asking questions to CiC or any other forums might take a little bit of time whereas sending it back to Nikon for repairs at least I know I will be ahead.
As for Alaska or any other trips they are planning, my only request is for a short trip, no more than a week, less if possible. And it has to be well-spaced. We are off to Iowa next week to pick up another plane and bring it to Sacramento. I like trips like this, short sweet and money in our pockets.
The Alaska one is a break ... hopefully not too long.
