An early Spring has put a bit of colour in the bird's cheeks.

Spring seems to be a month early this year. Birds are getting their mating colours.

Remember the poem of Edgar Allan Poe -- The Raven? Still my favourite after all these years.

Anyway, I have no favourite here...they are all good looking and sharp. I wonder what upset the blue faced honeyeater? His looks is vicious...

Very nice set and great light I would reduce the hightlights a bit in the last one as the light seems a bit harsh .

I do indeed remember it, but always thought it dark and depressing. Your poem also triggered memories of Longfellow's Ballad of Hiawatha and Tennyson's Rhyme of the ancient mariner - but I have no idea why.

    Thanks Binnur,
the dynamic range was just too much. I used 'spot' to try to get some feather detail but couldn't then retain the highlights. The result you see was the best I could manage with Faststone which has no way of selecting part of an image. Any attempt to soften the background lost all the detail in the two birds.
