It's the opposite here, nothing but brown grasses, weatherman keeps talking drought but temperatures have been pleasant to scorching. I haven't heard the statement "this is a great summer" yet, but everyone seems to be enjoying it though. Nice captures.
I do not enjoy scorching summer -- I can't go out properly.Anyway, in the past summers we used to water our gardens twice a week, mow it once a week and so on and so forth. Yesterday was pleasant, around 87°F tops. I even went out with Bill hoping to find a shoe store near where he was going, no such luck. Last night we heard on tv that Maryland was flooded and some people died. It is a crazy weather, we can't keep up with the weeds!!! My backyard is starting to look like your prairie here above
. ..this kind of weather is a perfect recipe for thunderstorms...I wonder why New Jersey is experiencing drought conditions....and no, I do not believe in climate change.
Anyway, nice prairie shots...I sort of not like the conditions on #1 image...
You are the one that convinced me to scramble around on rocks to capture the flooding river. At that time the river was up by 10'. The orange cone and tape are there to keep people out as the authorities searched for the body of a photographer that slipped on the rocks. A rather sobering reminder that no shot is worth your life.
Almost 45 days of triple digits (ambient + heat index), though thankfully interspersed with lots of rain. It's the humidity where I am camped right now that really gets to you. I'm off to Nova Scotia mid-month. Just waiting for all the kiddies to go back to school and free up the campgrounds.
